Once again this holiday season, in lieu of holiday parties, CB Danforth's Management, Brokers and Staff decided to spread true holiday spirit by "adopting" families in need for the holidays. Each office was given funds and they selected the families to assist and then purchased and delivered gifts, food, gift cards and other items to help make this holiday season a little brighter.

MARYSVILLE TOY STORE: Thank you to the CB Danforth brokers who volunteered at the Marysville Food Bank's annual "Toy Store". This program provides toys for families who may not otherwise be able to afford them. The families get to "shop" for their children from items donated. This year there were 1,200 children signed up for the event. CB Danforth was proud to be an event sponsor and also so thankful for the volunteers who helped make this holiday season a bit brighter for these families.

KIWANIS HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE: The Highline Kiwanis Club held their annual toy drive for Christmas. The toys they collect are then donated to the Burien/Normandy Park Fire Department. Danforth in the Community was very pleased to help support their efforts. Funds were donated that were used to purchase toys for this drive.

ADDITIONAL DONATIONS MADE IN DECEMBER:

  • Federal Way Multi-Service Center
  • Forgotten Children's Fund
  • NW Harvest
  • Madrona PTA - Holiday of Hope Event
  • Teen Feed

This holiday season, in lieu of holiday parties, CB Danforth's Management, Brokers and Staff decided to spread true holiday spirit by “adopting” 7 families in need. It is hard to put into words the true impact this generosity has had on these families.

HOLIDAY MEAL KIT PROJECT: Danforth in the Community was able to support the efforts of Meeker Middle School’s band in their annual Holiday Meal Kit Project. This program focuses on families with single moms in the Tacoma area. Each Meal Kit provides food items for the families for their holiday meals. We were able to supply 30 Christmas storage bins which were used to place food items in as well as gingerbread houses for 80 families this year.

NEW HOPE HOMELESS SHELTER: The Winter months are especially tough on those who are homeless in our communities. The couple who runs the shelter said that they had just depleted their supply of coats and were concerned about what they would do in the coming months. We were able to supply New Hope Homeless Shelter with over 50 winter coats for men, women and children as well as much needed toiletry items, hand warmers, warm socks, laundry soap and blankets.

Danforth in the Community - Multiservice Center Family 2011

Coldwell Banker Danforth in the Community's organization is proud to share a picture of our Multi-Service Center Christmas Family thank you poster. In December, 2011, we took a truck load of gifts to this great family.

In our last activity for 2011, we contacted the local Multi-Service Center and ask if they knew of a needy family we could sponsor for Holidays.

They recommended a family who had been displaced by an abusive relationship and were left with basically nothing. Danforth in the Community's organization was able to give them some of the basics they needed and then a few wish list items for the kids. You should have seen the smiles and the hugs when representatives for Danforth in the Community dropped it all off.

“They said they had never felt so special." reports Dave Danforth, CB Danforth's Designated Broker. That is exactly what Coldwell Banker Danforth in the Community is all about!!

Take a look at the "Thank You" poster they made. Thank you to the contributors who helped make this great shopping trip happen and helped us create a great holiday memory for this family.
